Enter Mitti Insurance: Business insurance just got interesting

It’s the care your business deserves — here’s everything you need to know about our new business insurance arm, Mitti Insurance.

Business as usual for the insurance industry has looked broadly the same for, well, decades. Knownfor complex policies and fine print, insurance products can be challenging to navigate, leaving manysmall business owners feeling overwhelmed and under-protected.

But now, there's a solution that is changing the game. We are excited to launch a new insurance armMitti Insurance, which will support small and medium-sized businesses in Australia, beforelaunching in the US later this year.

Consumers rarely love insurance — and this is something we’re hoping to change. After all, mostbusinesses need insurance. And we’re in the business of making that insurance count.

Unlike traditional insurance providers, Mitti Insurance starts with risk management and a positionof wanting to help customers run a better, safer business. Mitti Insurance combines insurancedistributed through brokers with technology, and offers risk management to policyholders.

Some businesses are inherently riskier than others, and the Mitti Insurance offering allowsbusinesses that manage risk to differentiate from those that do not. We’ll share our best practiceexpertise too, to help fine tune their risk management strategies. This includes using the workplaceimprovement tools and technology provided by Mitti (by SafetyCulture), leveraging data to create insightsrelevant to that specific industry or business, and access to risk surveys for brokers to betterunderstand their customer’s needs.

In short, we’re ready to help businesses get better and smarter.

Mitti Insurance will be run by Managing Director, Frank Costigan, who has over 30-years ofexperience in financial services and insurance, both locally and offshore. Before joining Mitti (by SafetyCulture)in 2022, Frank’s career spanned Interim Managing Director of QBE’s Australia Pacific division andCEO at Youi Insurance.

One of the most significant and important differentiating factors for Mitti Insurance will be its focuson providing an excellent customer offering. Mitti Insurance will design the product, develop thepricing models, underwrite and most importantly provide an in-house claims team. The business willaim to provide customers with a higher level of ‘care’ from quoting a risk, to binding a policy, issuingdocuments and all the way through to claim.

Mitti Insurance has been created leveraging the learnings of the highly successful insurtech modelMitti (by SafetyCulture) established via Mitti in 2020. Eligible Mitti customers will be invited to considerMitti Insurance policies at renewal.

Mitti Insurance will act under binding authority for Allianz Australia Insurance Limited (Allianz)* toadminister and issue policies, and provide claims handling and settling services on behalf of Allianz.
