Every one to two weeks, Trackhouse Racing tears a race car down to the bare chassis and rebuilds it from scratch. Close to 150 people across the shop rely on the same checklists, build sheets, inspections, and updates to get every detail right before race weekend.
Trackhouse has won by as little as 0.002 seconds. The smallest detail can decide first place from second.
As NASCAR cars and parts become more standardized, the margin for advantage increasingly comes from how teams use data, systems, and repeatable processes to prepare faster and make better decisions.
Trackhouse uses Mitti's Inspections and checklist workflows to keep teams aligned through teardown, rebuild, quality checks and race preparation. The platform helps the team manage:
Car safety checklists for road crews
Build lists for the assembly group and fabrication shop
Car movement through the production process
NASCAR compliance information
Checklist completion and build visibility across the shop
Creating a new checklist used to take three to four days. Now Ben can describe what he needs and get a working checklist out to teams in an hour.
"It cut our build time down to about an eighth of what it took me before," says Ben.
The team also uses Mitti’s AI to:
Query historical inspection data
Surface inspection completion rates
Highlight recurring issues and insights.
Teams can not only get the information they need faster but they can also use it to improve the next build.
When something needs attention, Trackhouse uses Mitti to create Actions, assign follow-ups and alert the right people. That means less time chasing updates across the shop and more time focused on the cars.
“Using AI Assistant, we get live information instantly. This eliminates hours of walking, talking and writing things down”, says Eddie D'Hondt, Car Chief. “We don't have a lot of time here in the shop and car details have to be exactly correct. Using Mitti helps us access that data quickly and make decisions even quicker.”
The same pattern stands across all roles at Trackhouse: faster information leads to faster decisions. For Ben, that means getting ahead of issues before they slow the shop down, rather than chasing them down after the fact.
"I used to spend a lot of time going department to department. Now I can assign Actions, or send a Heads Up.".
By grading, measuring and tracking parts, Trackhouse builds a performance history in Mitti that helps shape decisions for each racetrack.
"We can go, 'Okay, this is our best part for this racetrack,' and build what we hope is the perfect car," says Eddie D'Hondt, Trackhouse car chief.
In racing, even small variations matter.
QR codes around the shop let anyone submit ideas through Mitti the moment they spot an opportunity. Sharing feedback in the moment, it gives leaders better visibility into what people are seeing on the ground.
"Performance is driven by support, by having the tools you need to do your job, and really feeling like you're part of a group of people united with a common goal," says Justin.
Mitti supports Trackhouse in their day-to-day race preparation, helping the team move faster, learn from their data and focus attention where it matters most.
Because in NASCAR, every detail matters.
